General Membership Meeting Recap

The WWGB Board of Directors will held its annual spring general membership meeting on Sunday, May 6th at the Warwick Township Building.  Financial and operational reports for the 2011-12 season were presented and board elections took place. 

The new executive officers for the 2012-2013 WWGB Board of Directors are:

Mike Wilkinson - President

Kevin McGowan - Vice President

Gary Christian - Treasurer

Charles Tessler - Secretary

Many of the remaining Board positions were re-affirmed and there are presently 2 vacancies that need to be filled.  They are:

7-8 League Director

Events Director

If you have an interest in serving on the Board in either of these positions, please contact Mike Wilkinson.

We thank all members who attended and offered their ideas and input to the Board.  Our next General Membership meeting will be held in September.  Hope to see you there!

 Spring Clinics Schedule

The Warrington-Warwick Girls Basketball Athletic Association offers free basketball clinics for any girls from age 7 through 17.  Clinics are free and offered on Wednesdays at Tamanend Middle School.

Times:
6:30-7:30 about 11 and under
7:30-8:30 about 12 and older

Travel players 10 and older can come to the second session.

Please bring your own basketball (Size 28.5).

For the 11 and under group the clinics stress basketball fundamentals including the triple threat position, dribbling, establishing a pivot foot, passing, proper layup form and form shooting. 

The 12 and older group will continue with shooting and dribbling fundamentals as well as working on more advanced under the basket moves and moving without the ball.

Everyone is welcome regardless of what team you may play on during the fall season.  There is no sign-up.  Every session is different and you can start at any time.

As a reminder, we will be fielding a third grade (8 year old) travel team next year, so we would encourage second and third graders to attend these Spring and the upcoming Summer clinics.

8 Year Old (3rd Grade) Travel Team Announcement

WWGB Travel Program will hold tryouts this fall with the intentions of fielding an 8 year old (3rd Grade) travel team if there is enough interest.  This tryout will be open to 2nd and 3rd graders interested in playing girls travel basketball.  This team is slated to compete in the ICBA and Lincoln League for the upcoming season.  Those players interested are strongly encouraged to attend the spring and summer clinics, as well as playing in the Summer League to get familiar with playing on 10 foot baskets.  Please contact our Travel Director, Kevin McGowan, should you have any questions or interest in playing, coaching or helping out.
