Warrington Warwick Girls Basketball fields competitive travel teams for girls age 9 to 14. These teams play in the Inter-County Basketball Association (Philadelphia suburban counties), and the Northeast Girls Interclub Basketball League (Lincoln High School in Philadelphia). Travel season runs from the end of October until mid-March. Interested players must try out for the travel teams. Try-outs are held in October. To try out, you must register for the winter season and indicate on your registration form that you are interested in playing travel basketball by the travel registration deadline, which is in late September. A coach will then call you to let you know when and where tryouts for your age group are being scheduled in October. Should you have any questions, please email our Travel Program Director, Kevin McGowan, or see a director at our summer basketball games or instructional clinics.IMPORTANT NEWS Warrington-Warwick Girls Travel Captures 3 of 4 NEGICBL Championships On Saturday, March 20th, Warrington-Warwick Girls Travel teams took 3 of the 4 NEGICBL championship games they appeared in. The 9's and 12's won convincingly, the 10's won by 1 with 2 free throws being made with 3 seconds left, and the 11B's fell short by just one point after a great comeback effort. All 6 of Warrington-Warwick's teams that participated in the NEGICBL made the playoffs. Congratulations to all the players and coaches for a very successful NEGICBL season! Congratulations!!! The 13A team captured the ICBA 13 Year Old Division I championship with a 39-32 victory over Spring Ford on Saturday, March 13th, at Tamanend Middle School. These 2 teams have played some very competitive regular season and playoff games over the past few years, and this is the first time our girls have beaten them in the league championship game. Congratulations to all the players, coaches and parents for a great effort in finally reaching the top after years of just missing this elusive goal. Also, just 2 days later, they won the Renegades Overtime League championship with a 40-34 win over the Patriots, after losing to them 2 times during the regular season. This win completed a year which saw them clinch 4 championships. They captured 2 tournament championships (Warrington-Warwick Warm-Up and Whitemarsh Hot Hoops) and 2 league championships (ICBA and Overtime). Congratulations on a great season!
In a fine display of sportsmanship, after years of intense competition, the two teams got together for this picture after the game.
Congratulations to both teams and good luck in all their future endeavors!
